I’m Shobna mum of two, working full-time, and running Ookti from a place of love and intention. I actually learned to sew because of my daughter, and that’s where it all began. As someone tall, I always struggled to find abayas that fit properly so I started sewing my own. One turned into ten, then twenty… and somewhere in that process, I realised I had something special.
I fell in love with the idea of creating handmade abayas using beautiful, high-quality fabric pieces that feel elegant, modest, and made with purpose. I’ve kept them affordable for the sake of Allah, because this isn’t about profit it’s about serving sisters and pleasing Him.
And with every order, 10% goes straight to Ummah Charity to support humanitarian aid in Gaza. They operate on a 100% donation policy, so every penny reaches those in need. Your abaya becomes a prayer, a sadaqah, and a quiet act of care for the Ummah.
